Alex Pichler has been helping me with my aircraft needs over a number of years and I recommend him very highly.
Most people think of him as a broker of aircraft with the PA46 airframe, and indeed he is the absolute leader and guru for Europeans looking to buy or sell aircraft such as the PA46 Mirage, Jetprop or Meridian. However, he can also provide services and value that goes well beyond the basic brokerage role.
I think Alex knows where every PA46 in Europe is, who owns it, its background and its condition. He has now expanded this level of knowledge to a great many PA46’s in North America, and around the world (Brazil, South Africa, Australia etc). In addition, he has a detailed knowledge of the engineering of the aircraft and their systems and has a reputation for being honest and straightforward. Alex is thus in a very strong position to source an aircraft for a purchaser, either in the open market or an unlisted aircraft, and is equally well placed to represent the sale of an aircraft on a global basis. He also has an impeccably strong understanding of the complex processes by which ownership changes hands, such as between the US and Europe.
My history with Alex started when I decided to sell a Mirage I had owned for about 10 years and purchase a Jetprop. Alex used his network to find a buyer for the Mirage in N America and worked with the buyer to make sure the pre-buy inspection and the legal transaction went smoothly, all this despite being in the middle of the COVID pandemic. At the same time, he helped me locate an excellent Jetprop in the USA, undertake a remote pre-buy and handled the legalities including getting the aircraft into the trust structure required to own an N Reg aircraft outside the USA.
More recently, I moved from the UK to an EU country where ownership of N Reg aircraft is frowned upon by the authorities. I had a choice between selling my N Reg Jetprop and buying a very similar EU registered aircraft or re-registering my current aircraft. Alex was able to do a deep assessment of the sale and purchase options, which turned out to be challenging, so I decided to put my Jetprop onto the German D Register and hired Alex to manage this very complex process. He found me an excellent mechanic in Germany to undertake the required annual service and FAA export CoA. Even more, he was able to use his contacts in the German FAA (LBA) to speed up the issuance of new registration papers from an estimated three months to 10 day – an outstanding result. In addition, Alex then arranged the customs import of the aircraft into the EU, which surprisingly given his incredible expertise and network was a very smooth process without any issues or delays.
This is where I discovered that Alex’ value add goes deeper still. I was naturally a bit rusty after some months away from. the aircraft, and also needed to train for a flight exam to obtain EASA IFR and Type ratings on my new EASA PPL. Discovering that Alex has over 2,000 hours on various complex aircraft and flies the PA46 Jetprop on a routine basis for a couple of his long-standing clients I hired him to put me through my paces for three days. Thanks to that I passed the flight test with flying colors.

Thinking back of how it all started, I recall I was on your mailing list and you made me aware of an off-market Jetprop DLX which you had sold to the US previously and knew it was for sale again. You did not hesitate to fly over to the US to meet me in person and join me on the trip to Texas to view this Jetprop. I also did ask you in the meantime to review logs of other Jetprops in which you had no personal interest to be purchased but you attitude did not change and you remained professional and supportive. In the end with all your help, we did then end up with purchasing N333GC, watching how you handled the PPI, the transaction itself of N333GC were SUPERIOR.
Per previous discussions, you had agreed to train my brother and me on type once the transaction completed for insurance purposes and this was really a great move of yours. You came over to the States for the 3rd time only a few days after your summer holiday and trained us locally which was a great experience which was absolutely worth it.
So, if Craig or I decide to move up, down, or horizontally in the aviation industry, we will definitely consult you FIRST!

To whom it may concern!
In early spring 2024 I decided to upgrade from my Citation Mustang, that I had flown for 8 years to a HondaJet. I had tasked API with assisting in both transactions.
The transaction was more complex to the extend, that we tried to harmonize the sale of my old aircraft with the purchase of the new.
API provided a thorough scan of the buyers and sellers market. I really appreciated the dedication to detail.
Alex was available at almost any time of the day to speak and review options. I had brought in counterparties from the US to source an aircraft as well and Alex was working with them in the best possible way.
We had finally located an aircraft outside the US with a seller that was challenging to say the least. Nonetheless Alex worked tirelessly together with Banyan in Florida to get the deal done. The aircraft had to be imported from Canada. We had a tight deadline on the ferry flight back to Europe.
With all the restrictions in place, Alex did a fantastic job of finally making everything happen. Hundreds of emails were going back and forth mainly due to the seller being extremely un-cooperative .
Alex pointed out various legal aspects and liability exposure, that could arise, which I really appreciated. We managed to address and resolve those.
I would say, that the transaction in terms of timeline and counterparties involved posed a great challenge and I don’t think I could have done it without Alex. The personal dedication of getting the job done was great.
For a starter I can generally recommend to use a consultant to assist in these transactions, because they can become fairly complex and an additional pair of eyes on the legal side is super useful.
API has done a fantastic job from start to finish and I am happy to act as personal reference.

I have been an aircraft owner of a Piper Matrix Malibu PA-46 for more than 10 years, using the aircraft for business and pleasure. When having to travel inside Europe for day-trips or 2-day trips it is clear that having my own, fast and comfortable aircraft, IFR equiped is very convenient. Purchasing the aircraft was the easiest thing in my live and after using the Matrix for 10 years, there was a moment to sell it. Selling an aircraft seemed to be a lot more difficult than purchasing one.

Als ich dieses Jahr meine Malibu Mirage, welche ich über 10 Jahre geflogen habe, verkaufen konnte, kontaktierte ich Dich, da ich eine Jetprop kaufen wollte. In late fall 2018, I decided to buy a new aircraft. After a significant thinking process and review of different aircraft type, I end up focusing on PA 46 ones. Through my research process, I met with Alexander Pichler. We finally bought a Piper Malibu Meridian, my dream aircraft. Being a pilot himself, Alexander can really talk in the name of the buyer. He can, of course, ferry your aircraft if necessary, or find for you an instructor, etc…etc… Although Alexander is a very knowledgeable professional guy, he is not a mechanics himself. Taking the opinion of top mechanic experts on top of Alexander before buying is not a bad idea. The additional expense may save you a lot of $$$. Piper Europe in Germany is, in my eyes, a good option. On top of that, what is great and useful is that you can count on Alexander after the aircraft acquisition. What ever happen, Alexander is there for me. When the time will come to sell and buy again, I will not hesitate and call Alexander.

Alexander Pichler hat uns bei dem Verkauf unserer Piper Malibu Mirage und beim dann anstehenden Kauf unserer Piper Malibu Jetprop hervorragend begleitet. Er kennst sich nicht nur bestens mit der Technik und Historie der Piper Malibu Familie aus sondern hat auch äußerst profunde Marktkenntnisse. Unseres Wissens ist er der einzige, der sämtliche in Europa und Afrika fliegenden Jetprops in seiner Datenbank verortet hat. API hat uns regelmäßig mit den erforderlichen Unterlagen zu den nächsten Schritten – ganz gleich ob Verkauf oder Kauf versorgt. Das ging über technische Informationen was an Avionik in Deutschland leicht zulassungsfähig ist und was nicht bis hin zu seitenlangen Checklisten bei der Flugzeugbeurteilung und dem Probeflug zusätzlich zu der natürlich durchgeführten Prebuy-Inspection. Hier wurde nichts dem Zufall überlassen. Schließlich kann und darf Alexander Pichler diese Flugzeuge als ATPLer mit den entsprechenden Type-Ratings als PIC fliegen und auch interkontinentale Überführungsflüge stellen für ihn kein Problem dar. Fazit: bei der nächsten Flugzeug-Akquisition ist API für uns die erste Adresse.
